Riot Control Vehicle

The Riot Control Vehicle ,‘Vajra’ , is based on light commercial vehicle and is suitable for law enforcement duties and transportation of security forces along with their riot control gear to the affected areas. So far 410 Vajra vehicles have been manufactured and supplied to Police and Paramilitary forces through industry partners all over India. A MOU has also been concluded with M/s Tata Motors for transfer of technology in respect of Riot Control Vehicle MINI-VAJRA on TATA 207 DI chassis, to undertake volume production on commercial basis.

In Chennai, this vehicle can been see parked on Spur Tank Road, chetpet and even on Boag road, T.Nagar, but I’ve never seen it being used for riot control purposes so far.
